The Future of Trusteeship - Seeking your views: Partnerships in emergency response

26/08/2025

News

The government is looking for your input on how charities can be better involved in emergency planning.

A new consultation aims to give “Category 1 responders” (like emergency services and local authorities) a new duty to consult with charities, community groups, and faith-based organisations on local emergency plans. This initiative, launched after the Grenfell Tower inquiry, is designed to strengthen future emergency preparedness.

Your voice is vital in this discussion. Share your views on how partnerships can be strengthened. The consultation closes on Tuesday, September 16th.
